Support for women-led businesses

Women-led businesses often face limited access to equity funding, mentorship and networking gaps as well as structural and social barriers. To combat such barriers, there are a wide range of support initiatives available, from banks and other organisations.

The Investing in Women Code was developed in 2019, establishing a framework to improve access to tools, resources and finance for female-led businesses. Building on this, the Investing in Women Task Force was launched in 2024 as a multi-stakeholder, industry-led and government-backed project. Its purpose is to support female entrepreneurs and encourage them to seek investment with greater confidence.

Alongside the Code and Task Force, participating members run a variety of initiatives. These include business mentoring and coaching, funding programmes, and a mix of digital and in-person courses designed to strengthen skills and networks for women entrepreneurs. These resources can all be accessed via the Investing in Women Hub: a one-stop-shop for women-led businesses.
