Appeal a bank decline

If you’ve applied to your bank for any finance for your business and you have been turned down, you can appeal here. You need to be within 30 days of your original application, and you will need to meet certain eligibility conditions.

The following banks are part of the appeals process: AMC, Barclays, HSBC, Lloyds Bank, Bank of Scotland, RBS, NatWest, Santander, Ulster Bank, Bank of Ireland, Danske Bank, Clydesdale Bank, Yorkshire Bank and First Trust Bank.

Once you submit your appeal form, you will receive an email confirming your appeal has been received.

I have had a lending application declined, can I appeal?

You can appeal if your lending application was declined and your company Group Turnover level is £25m or less.

Are there circumstances where my declined application cannot be appealed?

There are some circumstances where this appeal process will not apply, for example where you have already had an appeal heard that was not successful. The appeal must also be received within 30 days of decline.
