Overview of Bank’s focus on the Creative sector

The Media, Technology and Creative Team within SME Banking was set up in May 2014 to align our sector expertise with the trading sectors within London.

While our appetite within the market has been established through our Mid Markets offering for a number of years, this is a great opportunity to progress our support to these businesses within SME Banking.

Technology – Our relationship-led approach means we take the time to understand our clients’ issues and, together with our product experts, we deliver appropriate and useful solutions that add value throughout the trading cycle of the business, with additional support available (subject to approval) for the following:

  • Data storage
  • Databases
  • Computer software (gaming) in developing stage
  • Web centric solutions
  • Computer services
  • Funding of in-house and external Research & Development (for the above)

Creative - With a historic track record within SME, one of our successes to date is funding designer fashion businesses. With product partners on hand to provide banking expertise, we are committed to understanding the core trading cycle of these businesses and ensuring that longer term growth is sustainable.

Telecommunications - We are committed to supporting the telecommunications sector whose infrastructure and services are core to the success of economies around the world. A changing revenue mix, greater competition, regulation and convergence have led to a greater focus on capital structure, working capital, risk and liquidity. We work with our clients to ensure they remain both capital efficient and insulated from the most significant financial risks.

Media - Media is expanding as never before. Consumers are enjoying an increasingly rich media experience, while media owners are dealing with a number of new channels and fundamental shifts in their business models. We are witnessing a revolution in media. We help media clients achieve their business goals by being committed to funding growth to optimise their balance sheet, liquidity and risk profile. Lloyds Bank customers have access to a dedicated team of bankers, who work extensively with international media businesses.
