Entrepreneur Rashid Aziz owns three retail businesses in South Wales: a Spar convenience store with a petrol station that turns over £4.2 million annually, a second convenience store and a pub. The three businesses are all managed hands-on by Rashid, with support from his family. Santander refinanced the loan for his existing retail premises at lower charges, saving the business money. Six months down the line, Santander was happy to provide finance when Rashid decided to purchase a second outlet in July 2010, and in March 2011 supported him again to expand by acquiring a pub. The businesses are flourishing, with healthy credit balances, and Santander now provides a full banking service. Rashid enjoys a strong working relationship with the Santander team, and is looking at expanding even further.
